Kathleen and Karen

Remarkably Resilient co-founders and sisters, Kathleen Harnish McKune and Karen Dickson, worked together to develop RRT after discovering later in life that they both had extremely high ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) scores from a childhood of incest, abuse and neglect. Studying the neuroscience of trauma, they discovered the keys to strengthening resilience in order to combat trauma and toxic stress: essential knowledge and tools that were locked up in an overburdened health system. Their mission is to make these practical skills and knowledge easily accessible to every human since everyone experiences trauma and excessive stress during their lives. Strengthening resilience helps each of us live our best, healthiest lives. In addition to RRT, Kathleen and Karen are both HOPE (Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences) certified facilitators from Tufts Medical Center, teaching how positive experiences can counteract some of the harmful effects of adversity.
